From the shop floor to the executive suite

It began with an apprenticeship as a textile finisher. This was followed by training as an engineer in chemistry and plant engineering and as a REFA technician at HTL Dornbirn, distance learning as a chemical technician, and studies in industrial engineering in Liechtenstein.

He completed his Executive MBA at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and St. Gallen, focusing on strategic management and finance – alongside executives from European corporations in IT, telecommunications, aviation, medicine, pharmaceuticals and construction. This cross-industry experience became the foundation of WOLF International.

In 2008 he earned his Doctor of Business Administration. Unlike a classic PhD, the DBA is consistently geared to practice: repeatable solutions for complex industrial problems, especially for successful change management.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Wolf has worked internationally as an interim, turnaround, change and start-up manager. He has built and run plants, brought companies out of crisis and restructured organisations. Many challenges considered exceptional elsewhere are routine for him today.

“Negligence or fraud always strikes back – at an undefined time and with an unknown intensity.”
Dr. Klaus-Jürgen Wolf

The cause-and-effect principle

Knowledge is theory; understanding is practice. Anyone who does not question why something is the way it is can only manage problems, not solve them. That is why every assignment begins with the question of the root cause.

Five success factors in management

  1. 01

    Transparency

Vision, strategy and important decisions are visible throughout the entire organisation.

  2. 02

    Communication

Dialogue in both directions, top-down and bottom-up. It creates respect and commitment.

  3. 03

    Leadership

“Leadership is service – not position.” Leadership grows from the bottom up, not from authority.

  4. 04

    Discipline

Consistency requires discipline. Never ask of others what you would not do yourself.

  5. 05

    Compliance

It protects the company from negligence, misconduct and crime of any kind.
